I don’t know if I can sustain it

I love my job. Honestly, I think I have one of the best jobs in the world. But I don’t know if I can sustain it.

Over the past 20 years, working with leaders all over the world, I’ve heard this same concern over and over again. These are passionate, driven people. They care deeply about their clients, their teams, and their companies. But at some point, many start wondering: Can I keep going at this pace?

In this video, I want to share a few simple tips to help you take control both at work and at home.

When I talk to leaders, I hear the same three things again and again. Most of them want:

To perform – They want to be great at what they do.

To feel in control – They don’t want to be drowning in stress.

To have work-life balance – Their family, marriage, and personal time matter too.

I know this struggle firsthand. Early in my career, I was in leadership roles where the workload kept increasing. Stress piled up. My personal life took a hit. I wanted to perform without sacrificing my health, relationships, and sanity.

So, for the past 20 years, I’ve been on a mission to find a better way—for myself and for the leaders I work with.

After years of trial and error, I found that three simple steps make all the difference. Simple? Yes. Easy? Not always. But if you commit to them, they work.

1. Think Quarterly – Clarify

Every quarter, take just 30 minutes to get clear on your real priorities. What actually matters? What will make the biggest impact? If everything is a priority, nothing is.

2. Plan Weekly – Prioritise

Even if you know your priorities, you have to make time for them. Every week, spend 20 minutes reviewing your calendar. Block time for your top priorities first—before your schedule gets filled with other people’s priorities.

3. Act Daily – Protect You can be crystal clear on what matters, but life will still try to pull you in a million directions. Emails. Meetings. Interruptions. The key is to protect your time daily. Be ruthless about it.

So, my question to you is: Are you taking the time each quarter to choose the few priorities that will have the most impact? Are you taking time each week to organise your calendar around those priorities? Are you protecting time daily for the things that really matter?

This approach has helped leaders reduce stress, improve performance, and reclaim their lives. And it can work for you too.
